I’m so sorry!

I’m so sorry I haven’t been the best blogger in the world lately.  Here I thought with it being Summer vacation I would be able to blog a little bit more, but I have no clue why I would of thought that.  For some reason we have been keeping quite busy you would of swore I was taking Phenphedrinesince I’m always on the go. The weird thing is if you ask what we have be up to this summer I don’t know if I really could tell you. Yes, we went up to Ludington, but that was only for 1 day. Of course with Kevin’s karate being two times a week that can cut into the day as I always want to make sure he gets a nap in on those days since we are out pass his bedtime. Plus if he doesn’t get a nap in, then his attention span isn’t the best either and we don’t want that since we are paying for him to take these classes. ~wink~

So what have you been up to this summer so far? Anything exciting?

Ipods

Last year I ended up getting a free Zune (like the ipods ) from Pepsi due to the promotion they were doing. I wasn’t sure what I would do with it since I never get “me” time, but now that I’ve had it for awhile I can honestly say I’ve enjoyed having it. When I’m at home I can just listen to the radio, but if/when I actually get to take a walk by myself outside it is quite enjoyable listening to it and the thing I like the most is all the songs on it are ones I like due to I’m the one who downloaded them. The only bad thing is for the people who see me because when I do like a song I tend to sing with it and trust me my singing isn’t all that.   I know for a fact I wouldn’t make American Idol… or maybe I would because I would be in the first few shows with they show the awful people!  LOL

Do you have an Ipod or Zune?  If so, what do you put in yours?  Music? Books?  Pictures?

Happy Father’s Day!

I wish all you Father’s out there the very best today!! Happy Father’s Day!

Aloha Friday #23

Photobucket

If you’ve never seen Aloha Friday then here is the run down from Island Life….

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought on Fridays I would take it easy on posting too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you would like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave the link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participates! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

Now on to my question of the week:

Since it’s grilling season…. what’s your favorite thing to make on the grill?

I would say for me it’s a tie between hamburgers and chicken!

Father’s Day is coming up

Have you given it any thought of what you will be buying either your Dad or husband?   My Dad is easy to buy for as he loves golfing, I ended up buying him some of his favorite golf balls.  (Great thing is they were on clearance at Wal-mart for 1/2 off!)  With my father-in-law we could always get him something for his car he is restoring, but instead I tend to just give him money since we have no clue what he would need and I’m sure the stuff he needs would cost more than what we are able to spend on him.

Then it comes down to what to do for Paul.   I always have the kids make him a card (or sometimes like this year we already bought him one) and then he tends to go fishing to the other side of the state with his friends the week or two before and I tell him that can be his fathers day gift since that can end up costing a pretty penny even though it’s a “cheap trip”.

I know women tend to think of buying something the guys would need like tools and such, but what would it be like if you bought him a gift just from you (not the kids) that you could give him later that night?  (I had never thought about doing it)  I thought maybe if us mom’s ended up buying some kind of great lingerie gifts and gave it to the husband it could be a win-win situation for both involved.  The woman gets the lingerie that she likes (as she picked it out) and he gets to see her in it.  ~wink~

So what will you be getting your Dad or husband this Father’s Day?

Why does it have to be so hard?

I read a very interesting post yesterday from someone I had gone to high school with and in it she said… If it comes from the earth (wheat/organic bread, vegetables, fruit) or has a mother (eggs and meat) then you can eat it. Be careful when selecting processed foods, if you must. If you want to lose weight and look amazing you just have to give up the stuff. It’s no joke putting all these chemicals into your body. They will effect your workouts, your energy, and in the long run, no one knows.  I’ve also read before a way to to eat food is if you look at the ingredients and you can’t pronounce the words on it than pass it, but then why do I still keep buying those foods we shouldn’t be eating?

For example, I ended up buying a tub of scooperman ice cream for the kids a couple weeks ago and even though it tastes so darn good I do worry about it since it has so many pretty colors in it so you know it’s chucked full with dye and who knows what that dye alone is doing to our bodies besides all the ingredients I have no clue how to pronouce.

I know I need to start eating like the person wrote in the article above, but sometimes I think it would just be easier to pop some diet pills like Liporexall, of course my problem with that is I would have to remember to take it!   I’ll admit that’s one thing I’m not good at since I tend to always forget to take my multi-vitiman.  So maybe it would be easier to just try and buy the food that actually come from the earth or from a mother.

Bachelorette

Have you been watching The Bachelorette this time around?  I have  been, but unfortunately missed this weeks show.  I did see the end though (rose ceremony).   It sure looks like the drama will be in full force next week.  I just hope she really does find that special someone.   Right now if I had to pick someone it would be Jake and if I had to boot someone off it would be Wes.  I just believe the only reason he is on the show is to promote his singing.  Why else would be be singing all the time.   All I know is it won’t  be to long and it will be showing them shopping for engagement rings and I just can’t wait to see who those final 2 people will be!

Who do you think has a good chance of being in the final two?

Our day

This afternoon Paul and I ended up taking the kids to a “new” local park (new for us as we never knew it was there) and while we were leaving Kevin informed us that his belly hurt and it was the fake kind.  (aka.. gas)  Since we had some other errands to do and Paul wanted to swing by wal-mart to see how much a tube for the boat would be I thought I could buy him some tums while we were there.

So while Paul was looking at bug spray the kids and I went off in search of the tums.  Thankfully I knew where I was going, but to bad the kids were so determined that not only did we need to get Kevin his tums, but we just HAD to buy some vitamins.  The thing is we have a huge bottle of them at home, so thankfully I just had to remind them a couple times before it sunk in.

Then we went off to find Paul by the boating stuff, but of course he wasn’t there yet so we looked at the golf balls since I was going to buy some for my Dad for father’s day.  All I knew is he likes the Callaway balls that come in the red box so when I had looked online the only red box I could find was the Diablo ones, but at wal-mart they had another box that was also red and on clearance so I was wondering if that was the kind he had liked.  I called him up and was he ever excited that I had found them and then when I told him the price was $11 per box he got even that much more excited and asked if I wouldn’t mind picking him up 5 boxes worth (on top of the 2 I was already going to be buying him)!  So I go over to the barcode scanner thing to verify the prices (half of the boxes said $15, half said $11) and of course it said to check with an associate so I assumed they would ring them up for $11 and they did!

After that we were off to go eat at Sonic!  We ended up getting our first Sonic in west Michigan maybe a month ago and it’s still quite busy there.  At least this time we only had 5 cars ahead of us waiting for a spot to park!  The first time we went we ended up waiting like a half hour for a spot!  The whole time we were there Kevin was still complaining of his fake belly ache so the tums didn’t do their job and since he was whining about it all the way home I asked him if he could try and go potty when he got home thinking maybe he just had to go to bathroom and that was causing the belly ache?

So we get home and he goes in the bathroom.  I checked on him a couple minutes later to find him on the bathroom floor in a fetal position.  I started getting a little worried as usually one childrens malox will usually help his gas pains.  I then got him to sit up on the toilet and he started tooting and then requested a bowl as he needed to spit (aka throw up).  I quickly got him one and up came all his supper.  He then took a bath and seemed better.

After the bath he started watching Oliver and company when he started complaining of his belly again.  Since I knew he threw up all the tums I ended up giving him a children’s Malox and ended up sending him to bed.  He came back out once and said it hurt so I walked him back to his room and tried snugging with him.  He said he hurt to lay down so he sat up and then ended up laying down in the opposite direction and said it felt better when he laid that way.  So I asked him if he would feel better in my bed instead and he said YES so off he ran.  That was 3 hours ago and I haven’t heard a peep out of him since, so I assume his belly is all better!   At least I hope it is!   It’s summer… don’t they know they aren’t suppose to get sick in the summer?

Are you ready for the switch?

Not only are you ready for the switch to Digital, but are you also sick of hearing about it? I sure know I am! It seems like that’s all you hear about on our local news and my thoughts are if someone isn’t ready for it, shame on them because they sure had enough time to get either the converter box or a new tv.

It’s not as if there hasn’t been any good tv deals lately either.  Heck, our tv is a HDTV one and is good to go, but we still keep thinking of upgrading our tv to one of those flat screens that could go on the wall to open up our living room that much more.

Oh.. how I can’t wait till the 12th (probably more like the 14th) so I don’t have to hear about are you ready for the switch yet!
